The Last Jedi – Malin Head

In the North-West point of Ireland, subterranean caves can be found. Although they are not accessible to the public, the crew for ‘The Last Jedi’ were allowed to use the location for filming.

Around Malin Head, multiple locations were used, a walking tour is available.

The Last Jedi – Brow Head

For the disappointing sequel to “The Force Awakens”, “The Last Jedi” – Luke Skywalker (played by Mark Hamill) refuses to train Rey (the wonderful Daisy Ridley) on the Islands of Skellig Michael.

Rey has a vision in a cave, these caves are in Ireland, but not on the Island itself. Instead they are on the mainland, at Brow Head. About 8 minutes from Brow Head lies Crookhaven where the crew went for food and drinks (O’Sullivans Bar claims to have been used as a place for cast and crew to have a rest).

A New Hope – Lars Homestead/Lukes Home

Want to sleep at Luke Skywalkers place? Well, now you can! The location where George Lucas filmed the Original Star Wars movie, is a hotel. Many locations in the area were used for filming and some names are used in the films as well (Tatooine sounds a lot like a Tunesian town in the neigbourhood). Exteriors for Lars Homestead were filmed at Chott el Djerid.
