Jurassic World – Fallen Kingdom (2018) – Hawaii

For the fifth installment of the Jurassic Park movies, the crew uses familiar locations.
The cliffs while approaching the park at Isla Nublar are the vistas at Napali Coast, Kauaii. The same location was used in the original Jurassic Park.
Also, the popular location at Oahu, Kualoa Ranch was used for the tower, bunker and Gyrosphere scenes.

New Hawaiian location that was used is Police Beach (Papailoa Beach). At the beach the destroyed park was erected. For the previous film, a deserted Six Flags park at New Orleans was used.

The beach at Halona Blowhole is the spot where Owen and Claire emerge after the drop from the cliff (strange not a single dinosaur finds that same beach… that is why they are extinct)…

Aloha – Hawaii – O’ahu

O’ahu has been a movie location for many films and TV productions. John Panzarella, the location scout for Aloha used this location as well in 2015. He used the “tapestry of locations” in and around Honolulu to make the bittersweet movie “with a kick of hope”, starring Bradley Cooper.

Locations used are: Diamond Head Crater, Chinatown, Hickam Field (military base where half the movie was shot). Alec Baldwin’s office is the actual PACAF Headquarters office of General Herbert “Hawk” Carlisle.

Also used is the village of Pu’uhonua O Waimanalo. The village was shot with minimum decoration.

Other Hawaii locations included Battery Birkhimer, the Breakers Hotel, Wai’oli Tea Room and the National Memorial Cemetary.

Jurassic Park – Kualoa Ranch

After Hurricane Iniki flattened the sets on Kauai, the crew still had to get some footage for the Gallimimus Herd being attacked by the T-Rex. This was filmed near where the crew stayed at Kualoa Ranch, Kamehameha Highway, Ka’a’awa Valley, a place you can actually visit and some movie memorabilia still remains.

Other movies that used this film location are “Lost”, “Godzilla”, “Windtalkers” and “50 first dates”.
