While most of the film “Fantastic Beasts” was recorded at Leavesden Studios in London, some scenes were recorded in Liverpool. In the early days, there used to be a shipping route between Liverpool and New York (where the film takes place). Therefore the archetecture of Liverpool looks a lot like New York.
One of the buildings that was used is the interior of St. George’s Hall. It is so large, it made no sense for the production team to build it as a set piece. They just dressed the real building.

Also the Cunard Building was used.
