The National Museum of Wales is a popular location for the Doctor Who team for filming. It has been used for such episodes as “Dalek” (2004) , “Planet of the Dead” (2009), “Vincent and the Doctor” (2009), “The Big Bang” (2010) and “The Lazarus Experiment”. This means that so far the Ninth, Tenth and Eleventh Doctor have been here…. waiting for you Peter….
Sarah Jane Smith has also been here for “Mona Lisa’s Revenge”, where the Mona Lisa comes to life and turns people into paintings and vice-versa. Mona Lisa is played by Suranne Jones, who also plays Idris -the Tardis- in Doctor Who.
Look at the bottom two pictures. The ‘squid’ can be seen in a shot and the entrance (door on the left) can be seen in Torchwood. The statue with the Medusa head on top of the stairs is visible in many episodes of Doctor Who (and Sarah Jane and Torchwood).
