Samuel L. Jackson has to testify against Gary Oldman in 2017’s “The Hitman’s Bodyguard”. While some scenes are filmed in the canals of Amsterdam (not like the Dutch movie “Amsterdamned” where the canals of Utrecht were used), the crew also went to Den Haag (The Hague). This is the actual location for the International Court of Justice.
For this big Hollywood production, “Ocean’s Twelve” (2004), production used a little train station in the Netherlands. While the story is set in the trainstation in Amsterdam, this was a busy location. A nearby station was used (and the Thalys high speed train which usualy does not stop there was moved here). The city of Haarlem had a “similar” trainstation which suited the production needs.
James Bond is known to travel the world, and in 1971 he briefly visited Amsterdam in “Diamonds are Forever”.
Tiffany Case lives at Reguliersgracht 36 and close by and a body is found at the “Magere Brug” (between Keizersgracht en Prinsengracht), a famous Dutch monument.
More bodies are found in the city of Amsterdam in the movie Amsterdamned years later…
For the 1988 low-budget horror movie “Amsterdamned”, most scenes are filmed in and around Amsterdam. Although for the boat chase, the city of Amsterdam did not allow the crew to film in the Capital itself, so filming took place in the nearby canals of Utrecht. Although they look very similar, a big difference is the bars and restaurants right near the water (where the boat crashes into), these cannot be found in Amsterdam.
Most victims are “killed” in Amsterdam however, the first one on the bridge at Keizersgracht and Reguliersgracht. The second on the South shore of “het IJ” and the third at “Oude Turfmarkt”
The boat chase in Utrecht is on the “Oude Gracht”.
